Finally, this is my last blog for this semester. But this is just the beginning of my writing career. I will keep blogging whatever I see, I experience, and I think. I believe this digital portfolio will be one of my greatest treasures in the future. Thank Prof. Mangini for teaching such a great genre so that I can record my life through writing out.
So far, my digital portfolio says I am not a good writer yet. Technically, I made a lot of mistakes in vocabularies, grammars, and structures.
However, these are not the most important thing. Same as what prevents a building from crashing are the materials and structure of the building, what makes a paper outstanding are the substantial ideas and structure of it. This semester, I realized that I, as a foreigner student, have a lot of unique thoughts and experiences which are very attractive to my audience. These thoughts and experiences formed the substance of my papers. The 25 blogs and 3 assignments are all composed based on my stories and my thoughts. For structure of my paper, I admit I am not a good “architect” yet. But it doesn’t mean I will still be a “lemon” architect in the future. Actually, I already learned some ways of constructing my papers in different genres. In persuasive paper, I want to put thesis statement in introduction and use reasonable arguments to support the statement. In non-fiction story, I should focus on one precise moment and show it with dialogues and actions instead of describing. From the first blog to the last blog, my portfolio tells that I am learning how to construct papers.
Above all, reflecting on my papers, my portfolio says I am an aggressive writer with growth mindset.
